"By and large, it is the paintings that give the exhibition its vitality....moreover, it furnishes definite insight into talent... for it takes knowledge and ability to successfully substitute fracture for coherence...Patrick J. Aievoli's "Rider:56"...are(is) fine quality work(s) in this spirit", - Braff, pg 24, N. Y. Times, L. I. section, Sunday, May 20, 1984

Since starting his career Mr. Aievoli has developed his style towards the concepts of Robert Henri's Art Spirit; "Art is the signposts on the road of life...". Always fascinated with the magnitude of popular culture and its effects on society Mr. Aievoli finds interest in the iconoclastic mentality of current trend and the vapid avoidance of their own genesis.

"Each time we think that we start anew we seem to want to leave behind where we came from as opposed to using that for reference and reflection ... an incredible waste of energy and time" states Aievoli.

Mr. Aievoli states as his current influences Bacon, Basquiat, Beuys, Cornell, Diebenkorn, Fischl, Sherman, and others. Aievoli's recent work is centered around the combination of digital art and traditional mediums. New work can be seen this May 15th in a group show at 18 Orchard Street, NYC, NY.
